Meet the NWR Team: Chris

Northwest Radiology would not be successful without the hard work and commitment of our dedicated team! We are proud to have such outstanding team members who not only provide exceptional care to our clients, but who also work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly every day.

We want to thank our team members for their service and show everyone what a wonderful team we have, so we want you to “Meet the NWR Team.”

Each month, we will feature team members who are celebrating work anniversaries with Northwest Radiology.

Please meet … Chris. He was hired in May 2012, making this his four-year anniversary with Northwest Radiology! Learn more about Chris.

Chris BurtonQ: What is your title/role and duties with Northwest Radiology?

A: I am considered a representative, but I do a lot of little odd jobs — I receive and process records and films requests from attorneys; I handle automobile injury claims; I receive and process bankruptcy information; and I handle accounts of deceased patients. I also stay on the phones to answer any patient questions throughout the day, which typically involves taking payments or updating insurance information.

Q: What has surprised you most about working for NWR?

A: I have been most surprised at the community inside the office. When calling in myself to deal with medical-related issues, I imagine I’m calling into a huge office with lots of people who never see each other. I’m glad to say our staff is close enough that there is a pitch-in every month to celebrate birthdays and other occasions!

Q: What do you wish other people knew about NWR?

A: We may have an extensive network of doctors and work with a lot of locations throughout Indiana, but at our very core we are a small company determined to help patients.

Q: Why would you tell someone to work for NWR?

A: You will have the chance to troubleshoot and solve patient issues that lead to satisfying solutions. Navigating the healthcare field can be difficult and intimidating, but I feel we can develop a relationship with our patients that allows us to help them through that process quickly and efficiently.

Chris BurtonQ: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I am on the board of directors for a community theatre company, the Garfield Shakespeare Company. We perform at least two productions a year at Garfield Park on the south side of Indianapolis. This year, I directed Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest in March. Coming up this summer, our company will be performing William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We are proud to be a part of Bard Fest 2016, an up-and-coming Shakespeare Festival in Carmel, where I will be directing William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. To close out our season, I will be directing Kenneth Longergan’s The Waverly Gallery in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of the Garfield Park Arts Center.

Q: Describe Northwest Radiology in one word.

A: Invested (invested in our patients, invested in our employees, and invested in doing good)
