Cancer Prevention Study 3

From Linda Wilgus, Northwest Radiology Network’s Executive Director:

For the past two years, the American Cancer Society has launched a new cancer research study called the Cancer Prevention Study 3 (CPS3).  This study focuses on the lifestyle, genetics and environmental factors that may cause cancer – so that researchers can discover ways to PREVENT cancer.  The video below explains the study more in depth.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFMar_OwL44] Last year, I was privileged to chair a CPS 3 enrollment at the Zionsville Relay for Life.  But as Indiana weather goes… a huge storm blew through and interrupted our opportunity to enroll many participants.

We started talking about doing something BIG.. a community wide enrollment.  This has only been done in 3 other cities.  National ACS agreed!  For the past three months we have been in discussions, coordination with large employers in Indy to host the event.  Now, this has turned out to be the largest CPS 3 community wide enrollment ever!

The study will take place October 4 – 8.  The locations providing the enrollment sites are:  Anthem, East 91st Street Christian Church, St. Francis, IU Health, Lilly, St. Vincent & Roche.  The plan is to enroll many of their employees as well as drive members from the community to these sites to enroll.

The landing page for the Indianapolis study is where we will be directed interested participants to for enrollment.

This is so exciting for Indy… leading the fight against cancer!

If you have ever had a loved one or friend diagnosed with cancer.. and you thought to yourself “I wish I could do more”…. Now is your chance.  This is the one single way you can say, you helped find a cure for cancer.

Best,
Linda
