American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevented Study – 3

Linda Wilgus, NWR’s Executive Director was featured in the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Annual Report “A Defining Moment”, highlighting her involvement with the Cancer Prevented Study – 3 (CPS-3):

As Executive Director of Northwest Radiology Network PC, Linda Wilgus, of Indianapolis, Indiana, has witnessed many of the advances that are currently changing the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. That is why when she learned of the Society’s newest epidemiological study, Cancer Prevented Study-3 (CPS-3), she wanted to be involved. CPS-3 follows previous Society research that has contributed significantly to our knowledge of how genetic, behavioral, nutritional and other factors are related to the occurrence and progression of cancer. She became a CPS-3 cheerleader in Indianapolis, reaching out to her CEO peers to help the Society reach its national goal of 300,000 enrollees. Thanks to her nearly 400 Central Indiana Hoosiers will provide health and lifestyle information in CPS-3 for decades to come. When asked why she wanted to be involved with this research, she says,“It’s important because the results of this study will have immeasurable impact on cancer long into the future. I foresee a day when the results of this study will help us prevent significantly more cancers than we currently are.” – Taken from the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Annual Report “A Defining Moment”.
