Q: What is your title and role with NWR? What duties does that role include?
A: Compliance Manager. Although I actually interact with all departments at NWR, the largest part of my job involves working with the coding unit, guiding the front end of charge posting information and interfacing. Compliance also involves ensuring our billing and coding practices are within government regulations, and our documentation meets the industry standard.
Q: What has surprised you most about working for NWR?
A: Year after year, there are so many changes in our processes: the codes we use, the rules we are required to follow, the information we’re expected to report on, the systems we use and the facilities we partner with. It is just a part of healthcare overall, but it is consistently surprising!
Q: Tell me something you wish other people knew about NWR.
A: The people here are dedicated, hard-working and trustworthy.
Q: Why would you tell someone to work for NWR?
A: Stability. Although my previous answer described how much change we go through, it is ironically why we are stable.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: My husband and I have spent the past couple of years updating and remodeling our house; I don’t know what we even did before that! I guess our hobbies are mostly just entertaining our kids, spending time with our family, and social events with friends.
Q: Describe NWR in one word.
A: Steadfast
