Holiday Giving Project

Gennesaret Free Clinic (GFC) offers a wide array of health services to the poor and under-insured of Indianapolis, Indiana.  Through hundreds of volunteer health providers and a dedicated full time administrative staff, medical, dental, pharmaceutical, vision and specialized women’s preventive services are provided to over 12,000 patient visits each year.  Gennesaret Free Clinic also serves the poor through educational efforts, a yearly preventive health fair for the homeless and wellness clinics for diabetes, hypertension and chronic medical problems.

The Gennesaret Clinic’s Health Recovery Program needs your help!

For years we have witnessed homeless patients, and those without family support, suffer inadequate post-hospital care.  Many stories of patients discharged to the downtown streets after major surgery or medical illness prompted GFC to provide transitional recuperative housing. This program is called the Health Recovery Program. It provides transitional housing after hospitalization for eight men at a time. These eight men are given continuing programming, services, training, and housing as needed, with caregivers living onsite with the men at all times.

The Gennesaret Free Clinic is desperate for donations of the following items for these patients:

  • gently used men’s clothing
  • gently used men’s shoes
  • men’s hats
  • men’s gloves.

Send your donations to the Northwest Radiology Network Headquarters at 5901 Technology Center Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278,  no later than Friday, December 16th.

Another way you can help the Gennesaret Free Clinic is to provide prepared food and trimmings for 10 men for  Christmas (week of December 19th) and/or New Year (week of December 26th). If interested in making a food preparation commitment, contact the Health Recovery Program staff at the Gennesaret Free Clinic at (317) 989-5636.
