Northwest Radiology Network Welcomes Fischer as Neuroradiologist

Northwest Radiology Network welcomes William Fischer, M.D., as a new neuroradiologist.

Dr. Fischer is a specialized radiologist who focuses on abnormalities of the brain, central and peripheral nervous system, spine, head and neck. Primary neuroradiology imaging modalities include CT and MRI.

Dr. Fischer received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology and his fellowship in neuroradiology at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.

Dr. Fischer is a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American Board of Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society and Radiological Society of North America.

As a neuroradiology fellow, Dr. Fischer contributed to four educational exhibits at the national meeting of The American Society of Neuroradiologists. These covered a broad range of topics including the history of brain parcellation and neuroradiologic manifestations of tumor syndromes, dementias and inflammatory spondyloarthropathies.

During his residency, Dr. Fischer developed and implemented an introductory physics course for first year radiology residents. He presented the results of his experience at the national meeting of the Association of University Radiologists.

In addition, he analyzed four years of renal trauma data compiling his findings of overall prevalence and grade, as well as the rate of delayed or missed urinary leak. His results were presented at the national meeting of the American Roentgen Ray Society and published in the American Journal of Roentgenology. The article was chosen as that month’s Journal Club selection.

Dr. Fischer joins one of Indiana’s largest and most experienced staff of physicians specializing in quality high-end imaging services.

Northwest Radiology Network is one of the largest physician-owned radiology groups in Indiana and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
