Bob and Dr. Laura Dugan have donated thousands of rewards points from Buffalo Wild Wings to the Wheeler Mission. Dr. Dugan is a body imaging radiologist with Northwest Radiology, who helped coordinate the food donation delivery. The Dugans spoke with WISH-TV’s Aleah Hordges about the importance of giving back.

Northwest Radiology Network welcomes Matthew Jacob Stephens, M.D., who is subspecialized in cardiothoracic radiology.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Indiana University and his Master of Science in computer science and physiology from Purdue University and Indiana University, respectively, Dr. Stephens received his Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.

He completed a radiology residency at University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky., followed by a cardiothoracic radiology fellowship at the National Jewish Health/University of Colorado at Denver.

Dr. Stephens is certified by the American Board of Radiology.

He has contributed to several journal articles and abstracts on topics including distinguishing malignant and benign lung nodules utilizing standardized per nodular parenchymal features from CT; the identification of nonaggressive pulmonary nodules using an optimized scoring system; and infraspinatus suprascapular nerve branch compression.

In addition, Dr. Stephens contributed to a book chapter on the identification of biological relationships from text documents as well as an online publication about developing laboratory information management, analysis, and bioinformatics solutions for microarrays.

Dr. Stephens also presented at a Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference on how evaluating characteristics of intrapulmonary lymph nodes could change the management of pulmonary nodules.

Northwest Radiology Network welcomes Kelly Mortell, M.D., who is subspecialized in vascular and interventional as well as diagnostic radiology.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., Dr. Mortell received her Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

She completed a diagnostic radiology residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I.

She has served as a vascular and interventional radiologist with Beacon Medical Group in South Bend and Beacon Medical Group Vein Specialists in Granger, Ind. She has worked for Radiology, Inc., as a vascular and interventional radiologist as well as a diagnostic radiologist, serving Elkhart General Hospital and Goshen Hospital. She has also worked for Radiology of Indiana, both as a vascular and interventional radiologist as well as a diagnostic radiologist, serving hospitals throughout the Indianapolis area.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Mortell is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology.

She has contributed to several publications and presentations on topics including sublobar resection versus thermal ablation for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer; coblation for metastatic vertebral disease; percutaneous CT-guided cryoablation of the celiac plexus in the palliative treatment of pancreatic cancer; and evaluation of efficiency of secretin (RG 1068) assisted CT and MRI in improving pancreatic enhancement and tumor conspicuity.

Sixty-nine-year-old Indianapolis resident Lee Clark was walking his daughter’s dog and suffered a torn meniscus, found during a MRI at Northwest Radiology. Northwest Radiology Musculoskeletal Radiologist Dr. Catherine S. King talked with WISH-TV’s Angeli Kakade about the increased risk for seniors to fall, especially during the winter months.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., Dr. Gillott received his Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine.

He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C., followed by a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

He has served as a radiologist at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis as well as a radiologist for X-Ray Consultants and medical director at Allied Imaging Center, both in South Bend, Ind.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Gillott is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America and the Indiana Radiological Society.

He has contributed to several publications and presentations on topics including advanced imaging protocolling by creation of an online resource; the impact of noise-optimized virtual monochromatic imaging on image quality and diagnostic accuracy; and imaging of cystic lung disease.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa., Dr. Patel received his Doctor of Medicine from the Drexel University College of Medicine.

He completed a diagnostic radiology residency followed by an integrated nuclear radiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he was chief fellow. He also completed a diagnostic pediatric radiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Association of Pathology Chairs Honor Society and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.

He has contributed to several original papers on topics including lymphangitic carcinomatosis, delayed phase enhanced imaging in malignant pleural mesothelioma, early detection of pemetrexed-induced inhibition of thymidylate synthase and alpha-catenin localization and sarcomere self-organization.

Dr. Patel has also contributed to presentations on the dynamic enhancement of malignant pleural mesothelioma on computed tomography (CT) and the value of delayed phase enhanced imaging in malignant pleural mesothelioma.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in biology from University of Chicago and his Master of Science in molecular biology from University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Sanchez received his Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.

He completed a radiology residency at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wis., followed by an interventional radiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Penn.

Dr. Sanchez has served in radiology and administrative roles at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ind., and Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, Ind.

Northwest Radiology Network welcomes Catherine Scott King, M.D., who is subspecialized in musculoskeletal radiology.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in sports medicine from Howard University in Washington, D.C., Dr. King received her Doctor of Medicine from the Howard University College of Medicine.

She completed a diagnostic radiology residency, where she was chief resident, at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. She also completed an informatics fellowship followed by a musculoskeletal fellowship, where she was chief fellow, at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Penn.

Dr. King is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society for Imaging Informatics and Society of Skeletal Radiology.

She has contributed to several presentations on topics including a retrospective analysis of PET/CT scan reports to identify ways to improve patient care; dose reduction in nuclear medicine cardiac myocardial perfusion; the costs and outcomes of percutaneous nephrolithotomy based on percutaneous access; and whether or not MRI is necessary for cervical spine clearance in trauma patients without evidence of fracture.
