Northwest Radiology Welcomes Howell as Breast Imaging Radiologist

Howell_0520_adjWe are excited to welcome Jaimie M. Howell, MD, as a new breast imaging radiologist on the Northwest Radiology team!

Dr. Howell received her Bachelor of Arts in sociology and her post-baccalaureate premedical education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM). Following a radiology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Dr. Howell completed a breast imaging fellowship at Indiana University.

Prior to Northwest Radiology Network, Dr. Howell served as a staff radiologist for IU Health Hospitals as part of her fellowship. She has co-authored several research publications and was chosen as a participant in the Jay Weiss Center Pathway for Social Medicine and Health Equity at UMMSM. This is an additional four-year curriculum focused on topics such as health inequities, international health and social determinants of disease.

Dr. Howell is a founder of Project SERVE – Engaging Students and Empowering Families, a project at UMMSM providing a monthly meal to residents of the Ronald McDonald House on the hospital campus. She also volunteered for the UMMSM domestic violence clinic, providing gynecologic services to victims of abuse; and provided care to underserved south Florida residents at the San Juan Bosco Clinic in Miami.
