Northwest Radiology Welcomes Dowell as Interventional Radiologist

DowellWe are excited to welcome Joshua D. Dowell, MD, PhD, as a new interventional radiologist on the Northwest Radiology team!

Dr. Dowell received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and completed the M.D., Ph.D. program at Indiana University School of Medicine. He also received a graduate certificate from the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia. Following a preliminary medicine internship at St. Vincent Health in Indianapolis, Dr. Dowell completed a diagnostic radiology residency and a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Virginia. He also completed his IR fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Dr. Dowell is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology and is a Fellow of the Wilderness Medical Society.

Originally from Indianapolis, Dr. Dowell was the former Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he also served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering.

He has led and contributed to several national and regional presentations, including presentations to Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology and American College of Physicians Indiana Chapter. He has also co-authored more than 50 publications and abstracts as well as served as a manuscript reviewer and served in leadership roles in a number of radiology and IR-focused committees.
