Northwest Radiology Network Welcomes Jones as Pediatric Radiologist

MatthewJonesNorthwest Radiology Network welcomes Matthew Jones, M.D., as its new pediatric radiologist.

Dr. Jones is a specialist who performs and interprets medical images of children. At Northwest Radiology, pediatric radiologists have received specialized training in the imaging of children and have developed examination protocols specifically designed for children, with a particular emphasis on limiting the radiation dose.

A graduate of DePauw University and Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Jones completed his internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

In his residency program, Dr. Jones served as chief resident and was the recipient of the Michael Manco-Johnson Resident Professionalism Award. Most recently, Dr. Jones completed his pediatric radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.

“Dr. Jones’s credentials and experience in this highly-specialized area of radiology make him an asset to Northwest Radiology, and we are thrilled to have him join our team,” said Linda Wilgus, executive director at Northwest Radiology.

Dr. Jones recently spoke at the national meeting of the Society of Pediatric Radiology on fetal MRI and has co-authored a book chapter titled “CT Basics and Dose Optimization” in a forthcoming book titled “Problem Solving in Pediatric Imaging” (edited by Dr. Sarah Milla and Dr. Shailee Lala).

Originally from Indiana, Dr. Jones returns with his wife Laura, and in his free time enjoys cycling, hiking, camping and traveling.
