Northwest Radiology Network Doctors Recognized as Top Docs

Northwest Radiology Network is pleased to announce seven of its doctors were included in Indianapolis Monthly as Indy’s Top Doctors as rated by their peers as outstanding in their field.

The Northwest Radiology physicians recognized as 2015 Indianapolis Monthly Top Doctors are:

Peter D. Arfken, M.D., a board certified radiologist, graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed a residency and fellowship in body imaging at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Arfken’s special interests include body imaging and nuclear/PET imaging.

Eric Beltz, M.D., received a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta and graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. The board-certified neuroradiologist received his doctorate degree from Indiana University School of

Medicine. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Camden. While at UMDNJ-RWJ, Dr. Beltz served as Chief Resident. After completing his Radiology residency, he completed a Neuroradiology Fellowship at Emory University. He has completed research in several areas while attending Indiana University School of Medicine, UMDNJ-RWJ and Emory University.

Richard L. Hallett, M.D., a board certified radiologist, graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Indiana University School of Medicine-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Stanford University Medical Center in California, where he continues to teach as Adjunct Assistant Professor Radiology. Dr. Hallett’s special interests include cardiac/coronary MR and CT, IV contrast medium dynamics, 3D imaging, and functional imaging of cardiovascular diseases in athletes.

Benjamin B. Kuzma, M.D., a board certified neuroradiologist, graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a Fellowship in neuroradiology at The George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Kuzma’s special interests include imaging of the brain, spine, head and neck. He performs vertebral augmentation, myelography, and CT guided biopsy. Dr. Kuzma has been acknowledged as a “Top Doctor” several years in the Indianapolis Monthly Magazine’s annual November ‘Top Docs’ issue.

Frank J. Pistoia, M.D., a board certified radiologist with a certificate of added qualifications in neuroradiology, is an alumnus of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Pistoia completed a residency at Hartford Hospital and a Neuroradiology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His special interests include imaging diagnosis and therapy of acute stroke, and Kyphoplasty. He is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and former President of the Indianapolis Stroke Coalition. Dr. Pistoia was previously recognized as a “Top Doctor” in the Indianapolis Monthly Magazine’s annual November ‘Top Docs’ issue.

Lori J. Wells, M.D., a board certified radiologist, serves as Medical Director for both St. Vincent Breast Centers and Breast Imaging for Northwest Radiology Network. A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Wells completed a residency at Indiana University Medical Center. Her special interests include breast imaging and intervention.

Steven J. Willing, M.D., is boarded in both Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology, with special interests in Neurointerventional Radiology and development of radiology in the third world. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Emory University in Atlantaand his doctorate degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Willing completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta followed by a Neuroradiology Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His professional career spanned twenty years in academia, serving on the faculties of the University of Louisville, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and finally Indiana University. While on faculty, he earned an MBA from the Business School at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is the author of Atlas of Neuroradiology, published by W. B. Saunders in 1995. Since 2006, he has spent one month each year volunteering as a radiology consultant at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya, and he has traveled to Mongolia and China as a lecturer with Medical Education International. Dr. Willing was previously named as a Top Doc in the Indianapolis Monthly Magazine’s annual ‘Top Doc’ issue.
