Meet the NWR Team: Kristina

Northwest Radiology would not be successful without the hard work and commitment of our dedicated team! We are proud to have such outstanding team members who not only provide exceptional care to our clients, but who also work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly every day.

We want to thank our team members for their service and show everyone what a wonderful team we have, so we want you to “Meet the NWR Team.”

Each month, we will feature team members who are celebrating work anniversaries with Northwest Radiology.

Please meet … Kristina. She joined the team in October 2015, making this her one-year anniversary with Northwest Radiology! Learn more about Kristina.

kristina_nwrQ: What is your title and role with NWR? What duties does that role include?

A: Imaging assistant. The imaging assistants monitor multiple PACS (Picture Archiving Communicating System) while communicating with our radiologists and referring facilities, techs, medical staff and physicians to ensure that STAT and unread exams are read in a timely manner.

Q: How did you get started with NWR?

A: After working in the dental field for 20 years, I was looking to broaden my medical field knowledge. I was referred by a friend who had just started with Northwest Radiology, and she had nothing but positive experiences to share. I wanted to be part of that!

Q: Describe a memorable moment you have had while working for NWR. Why was it so memorable?

A: NWR recently changed PACS, which meant the imaging assistants’ desk needed additional monitors. We went from three regular monitors to five widescreen monitors. The management and IT department were incredibly supportive and swift in changing the setup to be more conducive to workflow. I was impressed that even with all the responsibilities and changes the IT department had going on, they took the time to get the imaging assistants set and more comfortable in their work space. We now affectionately call our space the “NASA command center” because of the multiple monitors.

Q: What has surprised you most about working for NWR?

A: The support has just been amazing.

Q: Why would you tell someone to work for NWR?

A: The people are great. NWR is full of top-notch professionals you want to be around!

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: My husband and two girls (16 and 12) like to take road trips, camping, kayaking and just being together. We also enjoy IU (men’s and women’s) basketball.
